Field Visit Summary Report (July 2013) The primary purpose of the field visit is to introduce the objectives of the newly created Office of Barangay Affairs as well as its functions. The date of visit was based on the scheduled session of the respective barangay. During the visit, the organizational structures were collected and compiled. The contact numbers of the barangay officials were gathered for information purposes and for immediate response in times of emergencies and important activities. Some barangays presented their problems that is in need of prompt actions. Barangay Lumbayao Barangay Captain: Hon. Bobby B. Enabong Date of Visit: July 9, 2013 Problems Presented: According to the barangay officials of Brgy. Lumbayao, some monitoring groups of the previous administration of Mayor Jose Galario Jr. were too abusive of their powers and were executing actions above their authority. They were hoping that Mayor Jose M. Galario’s current administration will select a good and responsive personnel to depict public trust. Barangay Kahaponan Barangay Captain: Hon. Alexander J. Gumbao Date of Visit: July 12, 2013 Problems Presented: Support for Barangay Road maintenance Barangay San Carlos Barangay Captain: Hon. Arlando L. Cañete Date of Visit: July 15, 2013 Problems Presented: (a) Barangay Road Maintenance (b) Setting of schedule to meet with Mayor Jose M. Galario personally and express their own responses and concerns. Barangay Tongantongan Barangay Captain: Hon. Federico N. Palange Date of Visit: July 16, 2013 Problems Presented: Barangay Lumbo Barangay Captain: Hon. Cicero Augustus H. Catarata Date of Visit: July 17, 2013 Problems Presented: Same with Barangay Lumbayao, Lumbo officials’ concern focuses on the abusive powers of Mayor Galario’s previous monitoring group of individuals. Barangay Colonia Barangay Captain: Hon. Alex P. Celestial Date of Visit: July 17, 2013 Problems Presented: Barangay Pinatilan Barangay Captain: Hon. Alfredo Silva Date of Visit: July 15, 2013 Problems Presented: (a) Additional support for electrification services (b) Barangay Road Maintenance (c) Additional water facilities/equipment for safe drinking (d) Assistance for Peace and Order Barangay Mt. Nebo Barangay Captain: Hon. Rufo R. Barliso Jr. Date of Visit: July 12, 2013 Problems Presented: (a) Additional honorarium for Barangay Tanod (current honorarium: P300/quarter) (b)Additional security measures for the continuing robbery incident in the public school (c) Financial support for the 33rd Detachment (d) Financial support for Day Care Center building construction (a certain portion of land was donated by Datu Sulan however funding for the construction is insufficient) (e) Water system development (f) Request for multi-purpose vehicle Barangay Mabuhay Barangay Captain: Hon. Hilda G. Hablado-Pepito Date of Visit: July 17, 2013 Problems Presented: Request for a multi-purpose vehicle to be used for barangay operations especially during emergency cases. Barangay Mailag Barangay Captain: Hon. Jesus P. Ragsac Date of Visit: July 16, 2013 Problems Presented: Barangay Vintar Barangay Captain: Hon. Dionisio V. Santos Date of Visit: July 19, 2013 Problems Presented: Barangay Batangan Barangay Captain: Hon. Vicente C. Desebayla Sr. Date of Visit: July 19, 2013 Problems Presented: Barangay San Isidro Barangay Captain: Hon. Henry T. Ladesma Date of Visit: July 16, 2013 Problems Presented: Four (4) puroks in Brgy. San Isidro faces a financial difficulty in acquiring a specific land area owned by a private individual who plans to sell the said land area. The purok officials are in need of fund to acquire the area. Mr. Roberto Garcia suggested to submit a resolution regarding the problem to Hon. Mayor Jose M. Galario Jr. Barangay Dagat Kidavao Barangay Captain: Hon. Alexander V. Ara Sr. Date of Visit: July 26, 2013 Problems Presented: (a) Barangay Dagat Ki Davao’s Integrated School has a growing population of students. However, the school administration could no longer cater the growing needs of its students especially the class rooms. To solve the problem, the barangay officials requested for a fund amounting to P500, 000.00 to realize the project. (b) Another problem presented focuses on the Housing Project for the victims of Bagyong Pablo last year. The officials are asking for a financial support amounting to P6, 000,000.00 to acquire the land area situated in the barangay which will serve as the relocation site for the victims. Barangay Poblacion Barangay Captain: Hon. Jovito Z. Borbon Date of Visit: July 31, 2013 Problems Presented: Barangay Bagontaas Barangay Captain: Francisco Berou Date of Visit: July 29, 2013 Problems Presented: Barangay Sugod Barangay Captain: Ernesto Abella Date of Visit: July 29, 2013 Problems Presented: Additional funding for the RIC. Barangay Sinabuagan Barangay Captain: Hon. erwin Parel Date of Visit: August 2, 2013 Problems Presented: Additional funding for Barangay Road Maintenance. Barangay Sinayawan Barangay Captain: Jose Sison Jr. Date of Visit: August 2, 2013 Problems Presented: Financial support for Barangay Road Maintenance. Mr. Sison, suggested to establish or set up our City’s own quarry for limestone, sand and gravel for a convenient and a faster means of road maintenance throughout the barangays of the City of Valencia.
