Field test day one of my new found bait. instant hits, pull rounds, wrap rounds i missed. Went up a hook size to a 6 and down to a 1/4 the bait size, we had contact and a very nice little 2lb ish Chub. Second fish was approx 3lb + Chub, instand smash n grab tactics by this little fella, and honestley probo one of the beast Chub Fights ountered. The Swim was under a willow, approx 4ft deep, roots, branches, brambles, Stinngers, I had to crouch/squat to sit up after a belly crawl into position. fishing at almost point blank again. My fishing partner for today, stuck with his fly rod and was pleasently suprised that london can offer such fun on the fly on an urban chalk stream river with plenty of dace and chub on the dry, up stream. So this bait, will go soft, but, will remain intact on the hook and the hair rig, pulling off on a hard strike, allowing for a good hook hold. Other bits torn up and loose feed. Now nowing i wasnt after elusive river carp or the disapeared Barble, a full size bait wasnt required, but i have no doubt a good fish would have no drama sucking in one of these baits, also its soft, yet firm and fit for human consumption, so should not pose a fish welfare problem. And if you get munchies, you have nibbles. Sad to say my camera batteries died, but todays partner took some pics i hope to recive soon.
