Fife Council flying the Palestinian flag. I will state that I am not pro either side, and that is how I would expect Fife Council to be too. I object to their spending my council tax monies on a flag bought especially by them to fly for one week and then to lie in a cupboard forever more when it could have been spent more wisely. I also object to Fife Council picking a side to support as it indicates the people of Fife are behind them when many will not be. Fife Councils flag waving will make not one jot of a difference to the conflict and is ill-advised at the very least. If this was necessary to raise awareness of the situation (which it plainly is not) then they could have flown the flag of Israel too and at least have been non-confrontational. Of course that would then have been two flags lying in a cupboard never to see the light of day again...
