Fifty-two years ago today, my dad was born, and Ill always be able to say that the depth of his life in just Fifty-one was overwhelmingly rich and worth Fifty-one more. In his life he made a point to teach me anything he felt the need to, and Ill share three of those things today to enlighten anyone who reads this and contribute to his legacy. One is that you will always have different opinions from people you love, but no matter how opposite your points are, you can always communicate with eachother to find a level behind the opinion which reflects an individuals genuine character which you can respect and hopefully find integrity in. Another is to always focus on the positive. Life is two short to waste a single minute fretting about negative things you cant change. You are able to choose to be joyful despite any adversity that might come up, and when you do, you increase your own quality of life exponentially. Finally, value your own life enough to devote it to something you truly love. A hundred years from now, your money and power wont matter. Lead a passionate life and leave legacy of beautiful art, ideas, relationships. When you leave this world, you can leave it a dimmer place, or you can leave a warm glow that shines as long as the light from the stars reaches the earth. I love you forever, Russell Shawver.
