Fifty years after the Civil Rights movement, race relations continues to be a significant issue in the U.S. Only fifty years ago, civil rights laws were enacted, which finally acknowledged rights pertaining to racial equality. That should have been a launching pad to develop forums for open dialogue about race relations in schools, community centers, city forums, etc. Instead, it seems that once civil rights laws were passed, the discussion about race relations was abandoned.
