Fifty years ago today, the Supremes Where Did Our Love Go? hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The following week it hit No. 1, where it stayed for two weeks. This was the first Supremes song to crack the top 20, and it was the first of five consecutive Supremes songs to hit No. 1. It was written and produced by Motowns Holland-Dozier-Holland team. To my mind, its kind of a boring song, with no chorus, no bridge, just a repeated 16-bar theme. But there were many better songs to come.
