File Under: ADVENTURE NOT PREDICAMENT - If youve been trying to reach me it might be little harder than usual as my phone’s battery went dead and then somehow ran off like a zombie. Yes, I seem to have lost my phone yesterday, which has been a bit disruptive... and open-ended as I’m still retracing steps at a time when I’m slammed with deadlines on several projects, so... I want to ask people to use FB or email to send me important messages instead of calling the missing phone. I really appreciate everyone’s patience as I work this out. I am borrowing phones to try to catch up with people I missed yesterday. Ah, Adventure. In midst of my phone predicament I am so glad to so many wonderful things happening. Tonight Marty Kahn is hosting an un-Halloween oasis for faerie family overwhelmed by the chaotic streets in the Castro (from 7pm-1am). It’s blissfully clothing & costume optional, with a potluck buffet at 14th St. :) In other excitements tomorrow there’s a delightful Comfort & Joy family double-feature starting with Moves’ piano concert on Van Ness followed by a party for Justin Justimes new art at Magnet in the Castro. Then Saturday brings us Go BANG! ::special tribute to SFs lost discotheque I-BEAM with Steve Fabus & Lester Temple! + Kenneth Kemp + Sergio Fedaszs Tribute To Loleatta Holloway! Now thats some Atomic Dancefloor DISCO Action! Celebrations of San Franciscos unique history continue next Wednesday, November 6th with two free poetic excitements starting with the James C. Hormel Gay and Lesbian Centers Opening Reception of a new exhibit showcasesing the poetry and books of local poetic visionary James Broughton, with poetry performances curated by Joey Cain at the Main Branch of the SF Public Library. Immediately afterwards, folks can walk just a few steps away to a free afterparty at the remodeled Eagle Bar that celebrates the launch of the new James Broughton, and Big Joy edition of the national glossy RFD Magazine - A Reader Written Quarterly Celebrating Queer Diversity, with a very exciting “Nipples and Cocks” cabaret lineup of Broughton material filmed by a local independent television crew. Then lovers and dancers all around the Bay will flock to What? Wednesdays for a set by dancefloor visionary Stephanie Zeneth (of the Lunatech day party) at the Lookout, with amazing music as usual but no cover or worries, naturally. Ahh... in the end, we do live in delightful times in an amazing city. My phone will return when it does, and the adventure continues…
