Filipino Elite Anthology Call for Submissions “Elite”: oligarchy, upper classes, haves, the rich / mayaman / masalapi / maykaya / nabaknang / narang-ay, thb powerful / influential / makapangyarihan / nangagato / mannakabalin, boss, dato, cacique, ilustrado / may pinag-aralan / nakaakdal, principal / principalía and their variants in other Philippine languages. We invite literary contributions (fiction, poetry, and drama) in English, Filipino and other Philippine languages (accompanied by either English or Filipino translation) that explore the nature, condition, and/or historical trajectory of the Filipino elite and the dynamics of their economic, social, political, cultural and personal interactions among themselves and with the rest of the Filipino population.
