Filming at the Hinckley Brick Kiln site, Monday 28 April: National Grid have agreed for fashion guru Gok Wan to road-test a brand new television programme within the company. It provides a great opportunity to showcase our workforce and parts of the business that most people never get to see or appreciate. Filming for this pilot show begins next week, starting here at the Hinckley office on Monday 28 April. Gok Wan and his production team want to capture a little of what goes on here, as well as speak to willing employees on the day. Gok and his team will then head over to National Grid House in Warwick on Tuesday morning and then onto one of our overhead lines locations in West Bromwich for the afternoon. It’s important to reassure you that your work and privacy here in the office is paramount, so we will ensure that any filming does not disrupt your working day and that only people who are happy to be on camera will be filmed. Our media relations team will be accompanying Gok and his team around the building at all times, so will be available to answer questions and make sure you’re not on camera if you don’t want to be – similarly, if you would like to meet Gok and be involved, feel free to let them know! For those who would like to meet Gok and for those who would rather avoid the cameras and excitement, here’s a brief overview of times and activity: 10am – 10:30am: Gok will be at reception talking to employees 11am: Gok will be back in reception 11:30am: Gok will have a tour of floor 1 and 2, and meet some employees to find out a bit more about what they do 1pm – 5pm: Meeting with employees who nominated colleagues for a makeover Gok will be back at National Grid in May for more filming, primarily to reveal which employee nominations have been successful and then to complete the makeovers.
