Final thought for today. I have £5k of makeup in a stunning metal case. I also have Scarlet Scarlett Johansson sitting in front of me before a wedding day. All the gear, stunning looking girl. How can I go wrong? Believe me, I would make a right mess. Having all the gear does not make for a great result. You have to know how to use it. The other day I spent the best part of a whole day re-editing, the best I could, another photographers complete incompetence. The results are better but theres only so much I can do. Such a lovely couple too and a beautiful bride whos photos were on the brink of being ruined by basic errors. People often say to me, Awesome photo mate, thats one hell of a camera. I wish I had a camera like that. Yeah, and Gordon Ramsay has one hell of an oven Ill bet. Even if I had his kitchen, Im still not creating anything remotely close to what the big man could create. Its not just the gear. Its the eye behind the camera, the mind behind the camera that creates images. This also applies to make up, hair, videographers, etc too. Its one day, one life, just one chance to remember this day for the next 60+ years. Just because digital SLRs are more affordable.... It isnt the camera thats taking the pictures. I decide the angle, the exposure, the aperture, the iso and finally when to take the shot. That shot that your unborn grandchildren are going to look upon, 50 years from now in wonder at how beautiful Grandma looked. I know we all planned for our wedding days and thats as far as our eyesight took us. The photographs live on forever. Its your legacy. Thats how much it means to me that your photographs are perfect.
