Finally! Back among the land of the living...well, almost. :P Status update from August 7th - the day I went to Kentville. I didnt get back home until August 16th. :P Nine days in Valley Regional Hospital was a few days too many for me. I hate emergency surgery. Theres way too much pain involved. Outpatients in Windsor on the 2nd. Ultrasound on the 6th, Family Doctor in the morning of the 7th; then, off to see the surgeon that night. Five days on IV, antibiotic drip and morphine due to pain, jaundice and a high liver test count. MRI on 11th to make sure there were no gall stones in the bile duct - gallbladder surgery that night. Developed hematoma and fluid in my right lung on 12th. Continued IV, morphine and antibiotic drip until the night of the 14th. Its amazing how wonderful ice chips can taste. :P Finally, all the needles came out, and I was given the clear liquid diet (some flavour) until Friday night while they make sure everything is working okay. That was not pleasant (use your imagination here). Does anyone realize just how many freakn food commercials there are on TV? Finally, late Friday night, put on full liquid diet (almost real food), but I did get to eat pudding an yogourt. :) Saturday, thank God...scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast and soup and a sandwich for lunch. Came back home that afternoon, August 16th. Yeah!! Have been in recoup mode for the past two weeks. Wayne took vacation to take care of me. Hes so wonderful. No wonder I love him so much.
