Finally I have time to comment on here. Congratulations to the Cards for winning the Central Division. Even though they played a lot of reserves, today, at least they won and didnt back into it...and in doing so finally won a series on the road. A few observations: 1) Pete Kozma does things to win baseball games. I hope they carry him on the post season roster instead of Mark Ellis who needs to retire. 2) Marco Gonzalez is pitching very well. If they carry 12 pitchers he should be on the roster. If they carry 11, he should at least get some consideration, maybe depending on whether the opponent has a lot of good left handed batters. 3) I think they should carry both reserve catchers and only 11 pitchers. A twelfth pitcher is hardly ever needed in post season with all the days off for travel. Both A.J. and Cruz present good pinch hitting options in certain situations with the other being available if Yadi gets hurt. Plus it opens another option or two. Seigrist probably pitched himself out of any lingering consideration, today. If they put Wacha or Gonzalez in the 11th spot instead of Motte they would have someone who is a starter and could go extended innings if they get into a long extra inning game.
