Finally got around to watching Rupert Sheldrakes banned TED talk. Its kind of shocking (in a way) that it was banned, given the completely reasonable philosophical inquiry and challenge he was giving to certain seemingly held assumptions mainstream science has about the nature of consciousness & physical reality. Was it really banned because of his lack of a factual portrayal of science, or was it banned because he challenged some tightly held dogmas too closely? It may be a combination of things--including as Ben Goertzel pointed out in the community dialogue a reaction from the anti-psi mafia--but it definitely struck a nerve.
