Finally got some time to comment on the last weekends Kiev Spring - TopicsExpress

Finally got some time to comment on the last weekends Kiev Spring Salsa Kizomba & Bachata Festival. Make yourselves comfortable, its gonna take some time. First of all, getting there was quite stressfull due to all the political hustle between Ukraine and Russia going on these days. On Thursday, the day before my flight, there was announcement that all Russian men will be rejected to enter the country by the customs. So, those of my friends who were still going from Russia turned in their tickets. Friday morning there were some bits of info that the situation is not THAT bad, so Ive took my chance and passed the border with no problems and only one question from the customs officer how long is your stay? And Ive never felt such a warm greetings from all of my Ukranian friends upon my arrival. That means A LOT to me – that we are staying connected no matter what. Then I should thank Mark-Anthony Sheppard, Andrey & Anna Sotnyk and the rest of the team for orginizing such a wonderful event with brilliant line-up and having me as a part of it. And all the students who attended my classes, all the girls Ive danced with at the parties. Im already looking forward for the next year – and this time Ill have the whole 2mambo team with me. And the last but not the least I should mention that the level of dancing has noticeably grown in Ukraine: both social- and show-wise. As a choreographer I was extremely impressed by the new show of Mark-Anthony, Olesia Sheppard, Elena Badzym and Bortnyk Igor. Then, New choreo by Mambo Dance Class. And 3 girls with Tatiana Karpenko in the lead. And of course Julia Yulia Klimenko and Alexandr Nechaev. And it was very good to see all my friends, both old and new. Hope to see you soon!
