Finally mailed off the taxes. So, todays tip is if you are eligible for a Health Spending Account, (HSA) you should get one. With the move to higher insurance deductibles, it is a great way to avoid taxes on out of pocket health spending. It sort of combines the benefits of an IRA with a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) that many are familiar with through their employer. Unlike an FSA, you keep the money rather than lose it if you dont spend it at the end of the year. And, you can gain tax-free investment income on it as well. Lots of niff-naff rules, but well worth doing.
