Finally managed to wrestle the fuel pump off the engine in my L400 last night and change the pesky seal. A trivial job compared to getting at the pump. Putting it back was an awful task. The spring loading on the pump made it nigh on impossible getting the thing to line up from where it came from. Only option was to rotate the crank a bit, fit, wind back and see if it all lined up. 2nd attempt and it was all in line. Now to reassemble all the rest of it. That rear water pipe on the pump I think is going to be fiddly. Didnt have a problem with the swearing bolt at all. Must have had just the right size tool. Fingers crossed its running again by lunchtime.
