Finally saw Blue Jasmine. The female leads American accents were distractingly unconvincing and Woody Allen knows so little about America that his blue collar characters were portrayed as Bensonhurst Italians -- even though the movie takes place in San Fransisco; one is even referred to as a Grease Monkey because Allen stopped listening to how people actually talk around 1970. To his credit, however, Allen does acknowledge diversity by finally offering an African-American character, albeit in a non-speaking role in the background during a party scene. As for Andrew Dice Clay: HICKORY DICKORY DOCK...OH!
