Fine Arts Camp - Success! Meet the creative team: Jana Greer – Jana sings with our Praise Team at the 8:45 service on Sundays and serves as the director of our Angel Choir. She also helped lead the Celebration Team during this year’s VBS. Jana teaches at Mountain Pathways School. Ryan LaRock – Ryan is our intern this summer from Duke Divinity School. In addition to his passion for leadership and discipleship in the church, he also integrates music into his ministry. Ryan helped to lead us in our lessons about Jonah and in our exploration of a Celtic Labyrinth. Deanna Lockie – A new member at BUMC, Deanna is an artist who helped design and helped the children build and paint the sets for Fine Arts Camp. Deanna says, “I have always loved art and have been an artist most of my life.” She loves working in many different mediums and enjoys being creative, and sharing her art experience with others. Sarah Mize – Sarah is a 2014 graduate of Watauga High School and plans to attend University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the fall as a theater major. She was helping the children with their understanding of script and stage movement as well as working on sets. Dr. Shawn Roberts – Shawn, a talented percussionist and professor at ASU, returned this summer to share his talents with the children as they create some of the sound effects needed for our Jonah story. The children will be making some of their very own instruments. Shawn also shared in our exploration of the Labyrinth during our opening and closing sessions. Dana Davis –As Director of Worship and the Arts at BUMC, Dana lead our creative team and assistants again this year. The children had a great week of exploring dramatic expression through script, song, movement and set design as we made the Bible story of Jonah come alive!
