Finished 3rd in 40+ class today. Really kind of disappointed, capable of much better. Had trouble adapting to bike. Ended up taking 12 clicks of compression out of front forks to make it halfway rideable. Now the fun parts! My weasel squeezers damn near exploded all over the place first thing this morning. I guess spandex has a shelf life. We start to unload at track, by the time the bike gets down the ramp I draw blood on my knee. Open up gear bag to get dressed, 1 sock? A smart man would of risked the loss of blood and loaded up and went home but, noooo not me. A big Thanks to Jason Sykes who happened to have a new pair of socks with him. So socks on, shin guards on, riding pants on. Crap, riding pants off, street shorts wiggled off over shin guards then back on with riding pants and finish dressing. Now 2 things are happening while this freak show is going on, 1 Jon Joakes Oakes is about to pee his pants hes laughing so hard and 2 my practice is finishing up just as I get to my helmet. Luckily they have a clean bike practice session and I get 2 laps in. First moto, gate drops and bike bogs badly, either the YZ doesnt like 2nd gear starts or my robust physique you decide.... Still managed to get a decent start despite all the roost. Note to self, chest protection! About 3rd lap I start pulling on the Roll-offs, nothing! Evidently Scotts dont come pre-loaded. And the film is home in the box. 2nd moto, better start rode hard for 2 laps got 3rd. 4-3 for the day for 3rd overall. Had an absolute ball today! Sam Minnielli, I can tell you how Im gonna feel not only tomorrow but, Tuesday, Wednesday and probably Thursday too. All joking aside, Haspin Acres and Morgan Racing do a very good job of putting on races, best I have seen at a Haspin Motocross. Now a little self promotion, that plaque represents at least 1 trophy in each of the last 5 decades.
