Finished “Fatelessness” by Imre Kertész (Hungarian) a Holocaust concentration camp survivor, and recipient of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Literature. A haunting novel about a 14-year old Hungarian Jew, during the year he is imprisoned in Auschwitz and Buchenwald. Surpassed only by Primo Levi’s “Survival in Auschwitz”, which I read, 25 years ago. Ending, the year on lighter reading. Alice Munro’s (Canadian 2013 winner) “Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage: Stories”
