Finished the dog dinners just now so Good Evening. We are still working on the sewage system replacing the second tank which is leaking into the earth and contaminating the land. Digging more to put the new tank in somewhere else. Not an easy day and all these days doing stuff like this we feel guilty because we are not giving the dogs their normal attention level. We still have another job to do with the spring water we need to build a small reservoir with a filter to accumulate water that it fit for cleaning and use the well water for us and the dogs to drink. The well water has to be pumped eclectically so if we can use the spring water for cleaning we save on electricity. So life goes on soon we will be able to concentrate on the dogs and rescue again. We just have to get all vital and money saving systems going first. Then we can concentrate on moving all the dogs into proper kennels. It has been a hell of a lot of work. We never envisaged so many things didnt work and were never told. We are getting to the end of it but are pretty broke financially. today we spent another $500 on the septic tank. piping, connectors, filtering material (stone) ten bags of cement (500 kilos) we still have to get the bricks which are 950 reais or another $500 for 1000 bricks. we already have some roof tiles. We will also need more wood, sand and gravel. The first of kennels are for Henry, Nicki, Sugar, the puppy, Bogart and Vincent and two others, who we will decide on later. So, all donations to help us start on a proper infrastructure greatly appreciated. I have almost finished the grant application for ten more kennels but at the end of the day we will need 10 more after that. there are still dogs living in pig stys, kennels with no concrete bases, no running water near by, etc. This makes life very difficult for us.
