Finishing up the amazing chapter of Matthew 12. Christ teaching a huge lesson here. Thank you for taking a look † (Matthew 12:46-50) While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. (Because of the crowds here they could not get close, and them getting to know Christ (the crowd here). What a wonderful moment). (At this point and time they were kind of holding back themselves (Christ physically family). Also, naturally with want to protect their flesh family Christ. So, we will see just how Christ teaches this. He wants all in or all out). Lets take a look, (John 7:5) For neither did his brethren believe in him. Here is in big part why as referenced: (John 7:13) Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. Okay that being said we could gather Christ family a bit torn on what do here. Christ has already opposed the pharisee and kenite doctrine at every turn. No one dared do this, expect for John the Baptist to a degree. Remember the attitude in the majority was how dare you Jesus? But Christ came to be savior, and the closer we get to the cross they further they realized that. This should be seen by all neigh sayers of Gods Word as well, and use the sense they have. They had to see things come to pass right in front of their eyes to be all in. So we should look accordingly to this growth. (But at the cross we know what Christ said of Mary concerning John. And Christ physical brother becoming Pastor in Jerusalem and writing the book of James. Jude as well). 47Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. (The dont have access. At this point Christ is trying to make they are not close followers, that is yet. They come to see, know, and learn that is one circle you dont want to be out of. The outside looking in). 48But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? (Christ always throws that question back on. Getting people to think for starters). (This aint about the flesh. And it will not be when this flesh is all (no buts) forgotten as well. Of course, Christ is referring to being brother and sisters in Him, Christ. Romans 8 explain the adoption in the most. Galatians 3:23-26 as well). 49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! (Close followers, and becoming even closer as they grew in relationship. Discipleship = Growing in Gods Word discipline towards Gods laws). 50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. (Thus being in Gods will. The will of the Father is of course to do the above and make Disciples of all nations (ethnos). (The will of God is to be in all in. No fear. Just as Paul did not and he wrote Romans 8 in the comment box below). Amen †
