O my God, in the name of Your Being, O my Hope, ﻩﺎﺛﺎﻴﻏ ﺎﻳ ﻩﺎﻨﻤﺣﺭ ﺎﻳ O my All-beneficent, O my Supporter, ﻪﻟ ﺔﻠﻴﺣ ﻻ ﻙﺪﺒﻋ ﻙﺪﺒﻋ Your servant, Your servant, has no strategy. ﻩﺎﺘﺒﻏﺭ ﻰﻬﺘﻨﻣ ﺎﻳ O Ultimate of my desire! ﻙﺪﺒﻋ ﻕﻭﺮﻋ ﻲﻓ ﻡﺪﻟﭐ ﻱﺮﺠﻣ ﺎﻳ *********************** O He Who makes blood run into the veins of Your slave! ﻩﺎﻜﻟﺎﻣ ﺎﻳ ﻩﺍﺪﻴﺳ ﺎﻳ ******************* O my Chief, O my Master! ﻩﺎﺑﺭ ﺎﻳ ﻮﻫ ﺎﻳﺍ ﻮﻫ ﺎﻳﺍ ********************­ *** O He Who is Unique! O He Who is Unique! O my Lord! ﻙﺪﺒﻋ ﻙﺪﺒﻋ ************************** I—Your servant, Your servant— ﻲﺴﻔﻧ ﻦﻋ ﻲﺑ ﻰﻨﻏ ﻻﻭ ﻲﻟ ﺔﻠﻴﺣ ﻻ have no strategy and I cannot avail myself ﺎﻌﻔﻧ ﻻﻭ ﺍﺮﺿ ﺎﻬﻟ ﻊﻴﻄﺘﺳﺍ ﻻﻭ ************************* and I have no control over loss or over profit. ﻪﻌﻧﺎﺻﺍ ﻦﻣ ﺪﺟﺍ ﻻﻭ I do not find anyone from whom I may seek help; ﻲﻨﻋ ﻊﺋﺍﺪﺨﻟﭐ ﺏﺎﺒﺳﺍ ﺖﻌﻄﻘﺗ ********************­ ***** so, all profitable avenues have been blocked, ﻲﻨﻋ ﻥﻮﻨﻈﻣ ﻞﻛ ﻞﺤﻤﺿﺍﻭ and all my expectations have turned into disappointments. ﻚﻴﻟﺇ ﺮﻫﺪﻟﭐ ﻲﻧﺩﺮﻓﺍ ********************* Helpless and forsaken I came to You, ﻡﺎﻘﻤﻟﭐ ﺍﺬﻫ ﻚﻳﺪﻳ ﻦﻴﺑ ﺖﻤﻘﻓ ******************** So, I have presented myself before You in this current stand. ﻪﻠﻛ ﺍﺬﻫ ﻥﺎﻛ ﻚﻤﻠﻌﺑ ﻲﻬﻟﺇ ﺎﻳ O my God, You are aware of all that which I speak about. ﻲﺑ ﻊﻧﺎﺻ ﺖﻧﺍ ﻒﻴﻜﻓ ********************** So, how would You deal with me? ﻲﺋﺎﻋﺪﻟ ﻝﻮﻘﺗ ﻒﻴﻛ ﻱﺮﻌﺷ ﺖﻴﻟﻭ If I but knew how would You dispense with my prayer? ﻻ ﻝﻮﻘﺗ ﻡﺍ ﻢﻌﻧ ﻝﻮﻘﺗﺍ Would You say, ‘Yes’ or ‘No’? ﻲﻠﻳﻭ ﺎﻳ ﻲﻠﻳﻭ ﺎﻳ ﻲﻠﻳﻭ ﺎﻴﻓ ﻻ ﺖﻠﻗ ﻥﺈﻓ If You say ‘No,’ then I am ruined! I am ruined! I am ruined! ********************** ﻲﻟﻮﻋ ﺎﻳ ﻲﻟﻮﻋ ﺎﻳ ﻲﻟﻮﻋ ﺎﻳ Woe to me! Woe to me! Woe to me! ********************** ﻲﺗﻮﻘﺷ ﺎﻳ ﻲﺗﻮﻘﺷ ﺎﻳ ﻲﺗﻮﻘﺷ ﺎﻳ Oh my misery! Oh my misery! What? ﺎﺠﻟﺍ ﺀﻲﺷ ﻱﺍ ﻰﻟﺇ ﻭﺍ ********************* In which place to take shelter? ﻮﺟﺭﺍ ﻦﻣﻭ ***************** For whom shall I hope? ﻲﻨﻀﻓﺮﺗ ﻦﻴﺣ ﻪﻠﻀﻔﺑ ﻲﻠﻋ ﺩﻮﺠﻳ ﻦﻣﻭ Who shall bestow upon me with his favor when You forsake me? ﺓﺮﻔﻐﻤﻟﭐ ﻊﺳﺍﻭ ﺎﻳ ***************** O Liberal in forgiveness! ﻚﻟ ﺀﺎﺟﺮﻟﭐﻭ ﻚﺑ ﻦﻈﻟﭐ ﻮﻫ ﺎﻤﻛ ﻢﻌﻧ ﺖﻠﻗ ﻥﺇﻭ ******************* But if You say ‘Yes,’ as I expect You to say and as I desire from You, ﺎﻧﺍ ﻲﻟ ﻰﺑﻮﻄﻓ ﺩﻮﻌﺴﻤﻟﭐ ﺎﻧﺍﻭ ﺪﻴﻌﺴﻟﭐ ********************* then joy is for me, I am successful, I am happy; ﻡﻮﺣﺮﻤﻟﭐ ﺎﻧﺍﻭ ﻲﻟ ﻲﺑﻮﻄﻓ ********************* then joy is for me, I will receive (Your) mercy. ﻒﺋﺮﺘﻣﺎﻳ ﻢﺣﺮﺘﻣ ﺎﻳ ******************* O Ever-merciful! O Ever-compassionate! ﻦﻨﺤﺘﻣ ﺎﻳ ﺎﻳ ﻒﻄﻌﺘﻣ ﺎﻳ ******************** O Ever-sympathetic! O Ever- commiserating! ﻂﺴﻘﻣ ﺎﻳ ﻚﻠﻤﺘﻣ ﺎﻳ ******************* O Ever-sovereign! O Just! ﻲﺘﺟﺎﺣ ﺡﺎﺠﻧ ﻪﺑ ﻎﻠﺑﺍ ﻲﻟ ﻞﻤﻋ ﻻ *********************** I lack any act due to which I can attain achievement of my desire. ﻚﻟﺎﺳﺍ ﻚﺒﻴﻏ ﻥﻮﻨﻜﻣ ﻲﻓ ﻪﺘﻠﻌﺟ ﻱﺬﻟﭐ ﻚﻤﺳﭑﺑ ********************* I thus beseech You in the name of Your Name which You have reserved in the innermost of Your Hidden Knowledge ﻙﺍﻮﺳ ﺀﻲﺷ ﻰﻟﺇ ﻚﻨﻣ ﺝﺮﺨﻳ ﻼﻓ ﻙﺪﻨﻋ ﺮﻘﺘﺳﭐﻭ ****************** and it has thus settled with You so firmly that nothing of it can come out from You to any other thing. ﻚﺑﻭ ﻪﺑ ﻚﻟﺎﺳﺍ ﻚﺋﺎﻤﺳﺍ ﻑﺮﺷﺍﻭ ﻞﺟﺍ ﻪﻧﺈﻓ ********************­ ******** I beseech You by it and by You, for it is certainly the most exalted and honored of Your Names. ﺍﺬﻫ ﺮﻴﻏ ﻲﻟ ﺀﻲﺷ ﻻ ******************** I have nothing to mention except this, ﻚﻨﻣ ﻲﻠﻋ ﺩﻮﻋﺍ ﺪﺣﺍ ﻻﻭ *********************** and no one can be more beneficent to me than You. ﻥﻮﻜﻣ ﺎﻳ ﻥﻮﻨﻴﻛ ﺎﻳ ******************* O Absolute Being! O Creator of creation! ﻪﺴﻔﻧ ﻲﻨﻓﺮﻋ ﻦﻣ ﺎﻳ ****************** O He Who has introduced Himself to me! ﻪﺘﻋﺎﻄﺑ ﻲﻧﺮﻣﺍ ﻦﻣ ﺎﻳ O He Who has commanded me to obey Him! ﻪﺘﻴﺼﻌﻣ ﻦﻋ ﻲﻧﺎﻬﻧ ﻦﻣ ﺎﻳ ******************** O He Who has warned me against disobeying Him! ﻝﻭﺆﺴﻣ ﺎﻳ ﻮﻋﺪﻣ ﺎﻳﻭ O He Who is besought!
