Fire Everything 5 Nov 2014 And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them. ” (2 Kings 13:17 NKJV) War!! The Kingdom of Israel is surrounded by Syrians who are waiting to launch an imminent invasion. Life and death of a nation are balancing on thin ice from King Joashs decision of what to do next. Your most effective ministry will come out of your deepest crisis. Many a time in my life, i faced situation where things get rather messy. I need a certain breakthrough desperately or it is the end of me. Challenges like exams, school fees, sales target and bills pushing me to the brink. Just like King Joash, sometimes God send people into our life to advise and provide encouragement. God came up with the answer long before the devil came up with the problem. Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped. (2 Kings 13:18 NKJV) King Joash was blessed to know Elisha in his life time. He followed every instruction given by Prophet of God. But his Attitude towards the situation sum it all up. His hunger and desire to overcome the situation is certainly unconvincing. He could have either fired everything from his quiver or fire until Elisha stop him from overreacting! Instead King Joash grew complacent and stopped at 3 shots. And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.” (2 Kings 13:19 NKJV) The truth of the matter is because King Joash is only living for the moment. He was probably afraid of how people in the palace may see him? His subjects are whispering among themselves; The enemy is out there and here our insane king is shooting arrows at the ground. King Joash is not living by Revelation as he was fearful of how silly he might look in the eyes of others. He felt Elishas instructions were redundant, therefore he would rather just play through the motion. It is the little things we do and our positive attitude that moves God. Sometimes God present us with an opportunity to strike our Syria down. The Syrians who may appear in form of debts, looming examinations, huge bills to pay, challenges in career/business and other adversaries in our way. It is up to us to live by revelation and do things that are not popular. At times, popular things are celebrated but that party usually wont last long. The God we serve looked beyond the popular and He is here to help us overcome when we approach challenges by His Revelation! The reason the enemy is fighting you tooth and nail is because he knows youre about to BREAKTHROUGH! The Holy Spirit is telling you to; Hang in there, you can go through this! Im still in need of a breakthrough this year end and i believe the best is yet to come. Arise and Build pledging weekend is coming soon. Lets not hold back to Fire Everything when opportunity arises. Dear God, i lift up my fellow brothers and sisters in Ministry, my Cell Group and friends into your hands this Arise and Build season. Help us overcome any Syrians that are intimidating us with certain failures and defeat. We know that You are fighting for us and we want to live our lives through Revelation. We will fire all our arrows until the Syrians are defeated. Help us examine the offerings and worship we bring to You. In this Arise and Build season, let us not give that which is heartless and meaningless, but help us give You our all. So i thank You Lord for the provisions and i believe we will overcome all difficulties in Your Name.. Amen!
