Fire drill at work, should I evacuate ? It’s a good - TopicsExpress

Fire drill at work, should I evacuate ? It’s a good question! Fire drills are based on the premise that at one time, a fire will happen in a building, and will represent a danger to the Health and Safety of its occupants. The definition of a ‘Danger’ is defined in the Canada Labour Code, but it has been changed last year by the Government with Bill C-4. If a danger is present at work, you may refuse to work until the danger is resolved. But this only applies to ‘immediate danger’ and must be investigated and recognized by ‘The Minister’. Yes The Minister was put in the CLC part II, instead of H&S officers. A fire is not a danger until said so by ‘The Minister’ on that specific occasion. So a fire drill is even less dangerous. I decide not to evacuate anymore.
