Firefighters can’t just rescue their fellow man, they are also equipped to help our pets. Video captured Thursday shows a firefighter using an oxygen mask to rescue a small dog that had become trapped in a burning apartment building in Palmdale. “We try to encourage the use of the oxygen masks just in case. It’s just so hard with pets since they can’t tell us what’s going on,” one fire inspector said. The dog was awake during the entire incident but was covered in soot.
