First, Archie comics did one hell of a comic, fusing the comic characters of Archie Andrews, Betty, Veronica and the rest of the Riverdale universe (Sabrina the Teenage Witch included) into a Night of the Living Dead world and made horror comics pretty cool again. Then, they tackled a variety of social issues, using it as a backdrop to Archie reflecting on his life, never once spilling the beans as to whether or not he married Betty or Veronica, only to die by sacrificing his life to protect a friend in a issue of Life with Archie (#36, they even made a variant cover, done by the amazing artist who does the Afterlife with Archie covers (my morbid sense of humor made me select that one)), and now, the latest issue of Afterlife with Archie, has Sabrina the Teenage Witch being psycho analyzed by a Doctor named Lovecraft and she comes face to face with Cthulu. Congrats Archie comics, you are going toe to toe with the big boys and winning.
