First Warn Forecast: Tuesday, December 30, 2014. .Colder air is moving in behind a cold front that moved through the region overnight...A few flurries will be possible this morning as the colder air migrates south...Winds will be stout at times out of the North around 13-15 mph. Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds...More clouds this morning and more sun by late afternoon. Highs today in the upper 20s to lower 30s. .Tonight look for partly cloudy skies and lows in the lower teens...Sunshine for Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 20s with plenty of sunshine expected... Clear skies tomorrow night with a SW wind look for lows in the lower 20s. .Thursday starts off dry, with sunshine and highs near 40... Thursday night the first round of precipitation could begin to impact the region...But I am thinking that the bulk of this first round will stay well to the south of us and just bring us clouds for Thursday night and Friday... For now, a slight chance of a wintry mix Thursday night into Friday... Lows in the upper 20s to near 30 overnight Thursday. .Friday look for more clouds than anything with a slight chance of a wintry mix/rain on Friday and highs near 40... Lows in the lower 30s at this point Friday night when I expect the bulk of the moisture from the storm system to move in... Saturday look for a Rain/Snow mix... Could remain all RAIN for SE MO and SO IL and a mix north... Highs near 40 on Saturday and lows near 30...Moisture moves out Saturday night. .Still a lot of questions regarding this system as models remain inconsistent and data is still somewhat absent....Warmer solution (track further north) means more rain than wintry precip, track further south...more wintry precip than rain... For now, still playing the waiting game and will keep it generic at this point... Stay tuned. Sunday look for sunshine and highs in the lower 30s and lows in the mid 20s ... Monday is sunny and dry with highs in the lower 30s. NGP
