First day trying out my monopod to support my Tamron 150-600mm lens. Downy woodpecker taken in Mead Gardens in Winter Park FL last month. It was nice to have the monopod to take the weight off the arm, but have to get used to the constraints...i.e. panning, walking with a group and not spearing a fellow photographer, and adding weight to the lens and camera body. Still, if I was to find myself in one spot for a while, it will work with a little practice. So far, see no difference between hand held and mono for sharpness.
