First, let me say that this page is open and ready to host news about any/all drumming events in Cuenca and the surrounding area. This is not meant to replace any other resources, however, if you know of a drumming event and wish to post it here, that is not only fine, but it is highly encouraged. Accurate and reliable news about various venues is critical. Nobody wants to show up at, what was inteded to be, a drum circle, only to find nobody there. Also, if youre just in a drumming mood, theres no rule that says a few of us cant get together and drum on Tuesday mornings at 2:00 am. Just saying... Okay, so back to our more-immediate need: Were at crossroad of sorts, in terms of when/where we meet. It should be readily apparent to some of you that moving around from site to site has impacted attendance--as well it should. Gracias! ===== Those of us who met regularly at the Inca Lounge, Im thinking we should find a way to get back there before NFL season blocked our extra point. I certainly enjoy drumming at Parque de la Madre as well, but attendance there has mostly dwindled due to vague and inconsistent scheduling. In the very near future, regular afternoon rain is going to cause another dent in attendance. The only thing I can really say about drumming in the park is that its up to you. If you want to drum in the park, post the suggestion to do so and see how many people respond that they wish to go with. The other drum circle page may be of some use in this regard, but recent experience suggests that it may be every drummer for his/herself. So this post will focus primarily on the Inca crowd (present and future). Craig has been very gracious in allowing us to use his home on Herman Miguel, but weve always known that he is trying to lease the same space where we play; its always been a temporary fix. So I have a few questions for yall regarding the future. Im going to put some poll questions below, but also please feel free to post additional thoughts or suggestions if you have them. The only constraints Id suggest is that, at a minimum, we need a site that is protected from the elements, is centrally located, does not have overly sensitive neighbors, and is available on a day and at a time when most people can meet.
