First my anger over last nights results: 1) North Dakota voters rejected young, energetic, idea-filled, hardworking candidates, and elected instead examples of incompetence (drug fueled or not), visionless and unproductive incumbents - go figure; 2) my sympathy for the western citizens and their infrastructure unfilled needs is quickly vanishing; next time the legislature shafts you, go complain to your re-elected legislators from out west - you obviously like being screwed by your elected officials; I dont want to interfere. OK, I feel better. Now for the inspiration of this day after the election: we have great examples of how to win elections in North Dakota - Erin Oban, Pamela Anderson, NDAM1, you showed us. It takes hard work, a campaign plan, working the campaign plan, including door knocking, phone calling and GOTV. We do well to pay attention and replicate. We have GREAT youthful candidates, stepping up to run for statewide and legislative races. We have GREAT young campaign workers. Last night a young campaign worker was asked whether the results made her want to just leave North Dakota. Her answer: no, it makes me want to stay and fight even harder. Damn.
