First of all, thank you so very much to each of you who responded to Gail Johnson Daviss message regarding my trip to the hospital on Saturday evening. Your messages relating your thoughts and prayers were humbling and so overwhelming to us. for those of you who want to know, this is the story. Nine years ago I had coronary bypass surgery with three bypasses. Apparently, one of the vein grafts became occluded causing me to experience all the general symptoms of a heart attack. A cardiac catheterization was performed yesterday morning resulting in the placement of three stents to replace the occluded graft. The cardiologist feels confident that this will be a long term repair. However, we will do another catheterization in 6 months to make certain the stents remain open. If not, a second bypass surgery will be scheduled. At the moment, I am home with doctors orders to resume life as normal. On a more personal note, I began to experience the symptoms on Monday of last week but put off going to the doctor because I wanted to get through Christmas. As I have been told repeatedly and pointedly, that was a serious mistake which could have cost me my life. I will not make that mistake again and will contact health care personnel going forward at the first sign of symptoms. Again, thank you all for your kind words, postivie thoughts, and prayers.
