First of all we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Ours will - TopicsExpress

First of all we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Ours will have to wait till we get home. To say it has been an eventful 2 weeks is an understatement. We started with Lilys Phase 2 trial in Chicago on the 15th of December. We arrived back home on the 20th only to see Lily develop a cough and a nasty rash. We arrived at St. Jude on Monday for counts and her cough had gotten worse. Her rash had started to develop into blisters on her skin by Monday night. Late Monday night we were rushed into surgery to remove fluid from her lung. Our friends John and Jen Riva came to be with us. We love them so much. They placed Lily on oxygen to help her breathe. By Christmas Eve her condition had worsened. They had decided to do surgery to insert a tube into her left lung to remove the fluid that had built up on that side. Of course during all this they told us to prepare for the inevitable. Christmas Day came and her rash is almost gone. Lily is still on oxygen. She has tubes in her right and left lung. They will begin to remove these when they are done draining. She is on a pain pump to control her pain. Lily is alert and now able to talk with us. Unsure of exactly what has happened. Chemo treatment from the Phase 2 trial attacking her tumors in her lungs making them bleed. We are waiting on a report. The chemo treatment itself causing her body to react this way. The cancer moving at a high rate of speed causing her lungs to react this way. I believe they have moved away from the last one for now. We thank everyone for there heartfelt prayers. We are thankful for all of our family and friends who took the time to reach out. So thankful for Dr. Fernandez who spent her entire holiday by our side. So as we sit here today Lily is still battling. She is such a tough little warrior. We love her with all of our hearts, as do all of you. Christmas 2014 Christ was watching over us!
