The face of the girl, whom Elomar claims to be of the persecuted Yazidi religious community, appears to be one of defeat as she stands wearing a dress emblazoned with cartoon character that looks like it belongs on a child. Elomar’s comment in the Twitter post was just as disturbing. “Anyone interested got 1 of 7 yehzidi slave girls for sale,” he said. “$2500 each … don’t worry brothers she won’t dissapoint (sic) you.” The post, made on Tuesday night, was removed soon after it appeared. The fact that no other posts were removed and his account was not suspended until several hours later suggests Elomar deleted the photo after having second thoughts about its content. About 2500 women from the Yazidi sect have been captured and enslaved by Islamic State — many of them from the besieged Sinjar Mountains in Iraq; their plight spurred the US to form a coalition to fight the group earlier this year. Elomar is married with children. His wife was stopped attempting to leave Australia earlier this year, before he was filmed alongside notorious Islamic State terrorist Khaled Sharrouf executing Iraqi policemen taken prisoner by the group. Sharrouf, a convicted terrorist, gained worldwide infamy after publishing a photo of his young son holding the decapitated head of a Syrian soldier. Elomar, who also posed for photos with decapitated heads, is believed to have been present when three captured Syrian soldiers were kicked and beaten to death by a mob of hundreds in the group’s stronghold of Raqqa, in the country’s north. The Islamic State claims enslaving Yazidis was justified because they were seen as “devil-worshippers”. “Unlike the Jews and Christians, there was no room for jizyah payment (a tax on non-Muslims to live in the so-called caliphate),” Islamic State has said in its official magazine. “After capture, the Yazidi women and children were then divided according to the Shariah amongst the fighters of the Islamic State who participated in the Sinjar operations, after one-fifth of the slaves were transferred to the Islamic State’s authority to be divided as khums (tax on war spoils).” The article later claimed it would be unIslamic not to have slaves serve as concubines. “One should remember that enslaving the families of the kuffar (disbelievers) and taking their women as concubines is a firmly established aspect of the Shariah that if one were to deny or mock, he would be denying or mocking the verses of the Quran and the narrations of the Prophet … and thereby apostatizing from Islam.” Earlier this month, the group distributed a pamphlet to slave owners on when it is permissible to rape the women. “If she is a virgin, [her master] can have intercourse with her immediately after taking possession of her,” a translation of the pamphlet said. “However, if she isn’t, her uterus must be purified.” It claimed the women could be beaten for punishment — but not for pleasure — and that their faces should not be harmed.- theaustralian.au/in-depth/sydney-siege-depraved-terrorist-mohamed-elomar-puts-slave-girl-up-for-sale-on-twitter/story-fnqxbywy-1227159935170
