First post for April 1st, Atheist day! I consider myself very politically up to date and interested in politics. I believe that religion has no place in politics. One of the major flaws of politics today is that strong religious members believe that America was founded as a nation on Christianity, which in fact is completely false. This is shown in the main governing document the Constitution where it explains Congress shall make NO law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Also in article 11 of the Treaty of Tripoli, written by our founding fathers, it states As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion. Its pretty cut and dry. The picture here shows a senator using his political and not personal page to voice his views about a religious subject. In my opinion this is bad practice. Meet Jeanne Calment (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeanne_Calment), she lived to the age of 122, almost 123. She also had an amazing sense of humor. She stated I’ve never had but one wrinkle, and I’m sitting on it. I think she is funnier than Senator Mike Flair.
