First, the week Judy Garland died, we had the Stonewall riots (led by drag queens who were being harassed by police again at their local bar and who were NOT in the mood), which led to the modern gay rights movement (and is what Gay Pride weekend commemorates every year). Then, there was (my friend) Sister (Theres No Place Like) Roma, of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (a charitable and activist group of men dressed like nuns—if nuns were Las Vegas showgirls from outer space—with a remarkable list of socially positive achievements), who was NOT in the mood to lose her facebook account because she was born Michael Williams. Dont piss off Drag Queens, people.
