First time riding a bicycle in snow review; rode up to the hardware store again. 5 powder on asphalt: handles well, surprisingly. Rutted, packed powder on asphalt (few cars): like riding on sandy, sandy sand. Tire-sifted, thin powder on asphalt (many cars): handles well. Well-packed, non-rutted powder: slippery, but handles well. Once I got out to the main road, I was golden. But there was a very slight hill to get up before then with rutted powder, and I lost momentum and had to walk it up the rest of the way. And even then I was riding like I was three sheets to the wind. Good times! :)
