First-world problems, again: theres this weird, aggressive nurse - TopicsExpress

First-world problems, again: theres this weird, aggressive nurse practitioner, who does housecalls for the community health centre, and every time I ask if I can see a doctor instead, she gets all up on her high horse--really indignant!--and insists that the only difference between a doctor and a nurse practitioner is that the doctor can prescribe narcotics. Which puts me in an awkward position: if I keep demanding a doctor, itll look like I want narcotics. I dont want to give that impression, but Id really prefer to see...well, not her. Why am I even worrying about what such an unpleasant person thinks? Why should her opinion matter to me? Well, maybe she could write something on my chart, like on that Seinfeld episode, where all the doctors blackball Elaine, and then she and Kramer go to the vet.... Shouldve asked for a general once-over, when I was getting my finger looked at. Though, Im not sure you can combine those two services into one appointment. And I dont want to go back; hospitals are disgusting. And its expensive, getting a taxi, and all, and having it wait around.... Shouldve learnt to drive. I feel like Ive wandered into a Kefka story--The Castle, in particular. Life is inconvenient!
