Firstly good luck to everybody doing Parkrun today, especally the c25k group. On a serious note, whilst doing our usual Wildmoor route on Thursday night, i got shot in the ankle. Yes that right, i got shot. For all those hardcore runners, yes i did still manage to finish the run and ran the final 2 miles, although i did not get a pb. After a 2 hour visit to A & E, it appears that i was probably shot by an air rifle with the main suspects being a poacher, farmer or kids. The Police do not think this was an intentional act and for the record, neither do I, and although they do not think they will ever find out who shot me, they will do a sweep of the Wildmoor Houses and farms. Fortunately I have only got a flesh wound and bruising and the x-ray shows no bullet or shrapnel in the wound so I should be back running in about 10 days. Amazing thing is that Troy Chambers was running next to me and was on the same side of the road from where the shot came from so technically the bullet should have hit him. Now i know that he is light on his feet when running, but he must have made some awesome Matrix type moves to avoid the bullet. Thanks to Troy Chambers, Tara Telfer, Ian Hancey, Wendy and everybody else who was there on Thursday for your help and support. Also thanks to my wife, April, who took me to hospital and lovingly waited by my side.
