Fitness Tip: Jump Rope!! A calorie burner for sure, this is a great exercise to incorporate into your workout routine. For less than $15 you can get a pretty nice jump rope. The jump rope is less impact so youll have less stress on the joints! To adjust the rope to your height: - Hold the handles and step on the rope. - Shorten the rope so the handles reach your armpits. If you havent jump roped since 3rd grade at recess playing double dutch, it may be humbling at first! It does take some coordination but overtime of practicing youll build this up in no time!! Re-teach your body the movements of jump roping if it has been a while. Hold both rope handles in one hand and swing the rope to develop a feel for the rhythm (incorporate the wrists more and less of the arm). Next, without using the rope, practice jumping, using the ankles and slight bend in the knee to propel you off the ground. You dont have to jump through the roof! One to Two inches will do. Finally, put the two together. Youll probably do well to jump continuously for one minute.
