Five months ago my CAG Norm developed a skin infection. It started on the back of her legs and slowly but surely spread up her abdomen to her neck, under her wings and across her back. She has had every test known to man, everything negative and extensive treatment with antibiotics, pain relief and topical creams. Everything has now cleared except under her wings. The skin is so fragile and of course the air circulation is poor under there and the use of any moisturiser is not viable as it will cause bacteria to breed again. The action of flapping her wings means it keeps cracking. It is also driving her mad now and she has started fussing with it. So, after much deliberation I am going to have to collar her. She is going to HATE it bless her. So tomorrow I have to strip out her cage and arrange everything so she can move around easily and drink and eat collared. I am so not looking forward to it. I shall be sleeping with her the whole time she is collared and am home in the day. I pray it gives the skin chance to mend.
