Five years ago a bright eyed seventeen year old girl decided she wanted to follow around a labor and delivery nurse for a day. Trying to decide what she wanted to do in life she walked into that hospital nervous and praying she didnt pass out. But that day changed her life. You see as that girl followed an amazing woman and nurse around she learned that a nurses job wasnt just about checking vitals and helping the patient but it was about showing compassion and love to everyone you meet. That day changed the girls life. From that day that seventeen year old girl decided that nursing is not only what she wanted to do but what she had to do. Well five years later that seventeen year old is now 22. This 22 year old woman starts her dream tomorrow. As I sit her and think about my life and all the crazy turns it has taken I am flooded with emotions. I am thankful for that beautiful nurse who loved me enough to help me find my dreams. I am thankful for my family who has stood by my side. I am thankful to god for giving me this opportunity. I love each and every one of you and I promise I will make you proud. So tomorrow as I walk through those doors I will praise god and pray that I dont pass out. Take a deep breath as you walk through the doors its the morning of your very first day. Say hi to your friends you havent seen in awhile and try to stay out everyones way.
