Fixtures list for the 2nd XV 2013-2014 Season are now up. Also a brief note on the changes to the Reserve Leagues. boroughmuirsports.co.uk/seconds.php The Scottish Rugby Board has decided to implement changes to reserve team rugby for the 2013/14 season. Smaller leagues shall be formed which will be structured around a three tiered approach taking into account the differing needs of reserve rugby: • Tier one: Focus will be upon team and players in regard to preparation and competition with two ten team leagues being played nationally. This will be implemented in the 2014/15 season. • Tier two: Two regional leagues of ten teams will be introduced in the East and West regions. The North and Midlands model of reserve rugby is deemed to be working well and so will remain unchanged. • Tier three: The objective will be to provide playing opportunities on a social basis. Clubs will be provided with a fixture card with no formal league at the start of the season. A merit-based system will be implemented for clubs who wish to progress to tier two by qualifying for a play-off against bottom teams in tier two. In conjunction with these changes there will be flexibility around player numbers, and front row replacement below the top tier, allowing for uncontested scrums if necessary
