The Flagstaff Police Department was called to a missing juvenile at the Basis Charter School in the 1700 Block of N. Gemini. The juvenile was dropped off at the school but had not made it to class. Officers were called to the school when it was discovered by the students’ parents that a hand gun with no ammunition was missing from their home. A search of the facility originally resulted in no contact with the juvenile. Shortly after the search, staff members heard footsteps on the roof. The school initiated a lock down at that time after staff believed it to be the missing juvenile. Officers as well as staff were able to locate the despondent juvenile on the roof. The juvenile was secured on site and taken into custody. The missing handgun was located and secured. XXX
