Flat tires! I wanted to share this story that happened to us on day one of the honeymoon. We are in a very poor country that neither of us have been to before. Neither of us are resort type people so we rented a house where we could be alone. Driving on night number one in a little rental car we hit a pothole so big it felt like the car was swallowed and in a few seconds I heard air coming out - yep it was a flat, on a dark road with no flashlight and the two of us. Monique said a few minutes earlier that she didnt feel like she ever had to worry when she was with me because I would handle things (security). After a statement like that I had to be the man so I got out of the car, jacked it up in the soft dirt and guess what, the jack slipped and the car was in the dirt. I stayed calm and OUT OF NOWHERE two guys show up, one of who had a small repair shop, relifted the car and fixed the tire but they had no air. We leave driving happily down the road and guess what - another pothole and another flat, this time on the spare. We were out there because although the first tire was in the trunk it was flat also. Another dark road, we didnt panic, as a matter of fact we laughed. I had no clue what to do, we were too far to walk and it was too dark. I said a silent prayer and NO JOKE some guy comes out of the shadows asked what was wrong, flagged down another car to take him to get air and came back and put the tire on. In all of this we never lost our cool, never stopped laughing, and she never stopped believing I would make it happen. I must admit I made it happen with the help of God. I dont care how tough it may be, how many potholes we hit and how dark the road, with the help of God, I will always make it happen for my family, for my church and for my community. Dont worry my friend, whatever may come your way, God will send help when it seems you are all alone.
