Flat towing a Jeep YJ with manual front locker or limited slip and vacuum axle disconect on a D30. When turning left on a some what slow sharp turn your Jeep will turn hard to the right and bind up. You have a few different options: 1) Best but most expensive is a locking hub kit....eliminates most all wear and binding. Long tow distance. 2)Replace right axle with one piece axle and install inner axle seal..still some tire wear going to happen and everything is turning under no load. Short tow distance. 3)Start engine and place in 4x4 and wait for axle to engage ( a little forward motion required and then shut engine off and shift into Neutral (on automatics and 2wd on manuals)with the trans in neutral....this locks in the front axle and works simular to #2 but may pop out after a period of time. Short tow distance. 4)Remove front drive shaft. Long tow but not real handy....
