Fleischmanns Glass Frog (Hyalinobatrachium fleischmanni) is another species of glass frog that inhabits CRARC and most of Costa Rica. In-fact, it is likely the most abundant glass frog in the country. They are distinguished by their bright yellow eyes, white bones and white internal sheath that obscures most of the internal organs. Males are highly territorial and call from leaves overhanging fast-moving streams. The louder the call, the more dominant the male. If another male invades an established territory, the interaction can result in MMA-style combat. The males will grapple until the loser is pinned down. The defeated will retreat when released by the victor. Competing males arent the only thing these frogs have to worry about. Large Ctenid (wolf) spiders tend to like similar perches and are probably their most frequent predators.
