Flood Information July 6th, 2013 WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF AN EVACUATION This notice of “what to do in the event of an evacuation” is due to the water levels rising in the Ralls Island and Carrot Valley areas and the potential threat of both access to these areas and homes. An evacuation centre and reception centre have been set up at the University College of The North located at 436, 7th street east. If a voluntary or mandatory evacuation is called please follow the steps below: 1. Take all medications with you. Make sure you have enough medication to last over a weekend. 2. Notify family members. Call a family member and inform them that you will be evacuating to The Pas. 3. Take any needed personal items. Make sure you bring any items that are needed on a daily basis. (baby bottles, diapers, wipes, etc.) 4. Make your way to the University College of the North in The Pas to register. Whether you have decided to stay with family members or at the dorms in the college YOU MUST REGISTER WITH RED CROSS. 5. There will be a red cross representative at UCN. If you arrive after hours please call 204-623-7956, or 1-888-662-3211 6. Take your registration card to the provincial building to receive meal allowances. 7. Daily updates will be given to anyone staying in the dorms and are available by calling 204-623-7956 or refer to rmofkelsey.ca for daily updates.
