Flood Response updates: Medicine Hat - 10,000 people have been evacuated and The Salvation Army is at the evacuation centre providing food, clothing and arranging accommodations. We have also requested an EDS canteen from Saskatchewan to assist. At present our Thrift Store is in the flood zone and the shelter (18 clients, plus staff) have also been evacuated. Blackie - The team from Lethbridge with EDS Canteen was on site to serve breakfast and lunch. Calgary - Our Agape Hospice is evacuated and all residents have been placed. Centre of Hope is evacuated of 400 people and accommodations have been found. We anticipate that it will be Wednesday at the earliest before we can get back in to assess the damage. If you would like to help, monetary donations are being accepted at SalvationArmy.ca/floodrelief or 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
