Flood Update: First it is September 11th. A day in itself full of memory. We left the house yesterday as the LDS missionaries had shovels and push brooms going on every driveway and sidewalk. When I returned last night there was a complete difference. Our neighborhood on the outside is returning to what it is suppose to look like. We are entering a new phase on the clean up today. Instead of cleaning on a wide scale, we need to focus on a final clean. I am starting in the garage and will clean so that items can be moved in there and placed on the ground without fear of contamination. This will allow me to then focus on the flooring in the rest of the house. The bedroom floors will also be cleaned again with a bleach solution to continue to get any stench out of the house. I wish you could have seen the activity on our street yesterday. From residents throwing items in the large dumpster to a host of volunteers. People handing out water bottles to the American Red Cross to the Bishop Pyper stopping and giving us food. It is difficult for me to not get emotional because the flooding was overwhelming but so are the resources being offered. Already this morning I have received a text asking what time should the volunteers arrive!!! Until the next update...
